Appointment, 1844, of Bryan of Ohio as the Charge d'Affaires of the United States to the Republic of Peru by President Tyler; a certificate, 1846, admitting Bryan to practice before the United States Supreme Court; and correspondence of Bryan, 1854-1863, while a Menasha, Wis., land speculator, consisting largely letters to his son Marshall, concerning family affairs and business and economic conditions in Wisconsin especially as affected by the Panic of 1857.
